Residential Care Home in Mansfield for Adults with Autism, Learning Disabilities & Complex Needs
Imagine a place where your loved one is not just cared for, but truly known. Where the team remembers their favourite meal, understands what makes them laugh, and celebrates every milestone – big or small. That’s the kind of home we’ve been creating at Innova House for nearly thirty years.
Based in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, Innova House is a specialist residential care home supporting adults with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and complex needs. Across all six of our residential homes, we are able to support individuals with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and multiple diagnoses. Elm is recognised as our specialist service for adults with physical disabilities, but every home delivers high-quality support across this full range of needs. We’re not a large, impersonal institution. We’re a collection of six carefully designed homes, each with its own character and community, all united by one shared belief: that everyone deserves a life that feels genuinely their own.
What Makes Our Residential Care Different?
Finding the right residential care home is one of the biggest decisions a family can make. You need to know that the people looking after your loved one don’t just have the right qualifications – they have the right heart.
At Innova House, person-centred care isn’t a buzzword. It’s the foundation of everything we do. Every resident has a tailored support plan built around their needs, their preferences, and their goals. Whether someone needs specialist autism support, help managing a dual diagnosis, or a safe space to build confidence and independence, our qualified team works alongside them – not just for them.
We’re proud to be CQC rated and regularly inspected by Nottinghamshire County Council, who described being “really, really impressed” with how our services are run. All of our residential homes are rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). But the feedback that means the most to us comes from the people who live here. When a resident calls Innova House “home”, we know we’re getting it right.

Building Independence, One Step at a Time
Residential care doesn’t have to mean standing still. At Innova House, while we offer lifelong care to those who need it, we believe in progression pathways – helping people build the skills and confidence they need to move towards more independent living if and when they’re ready.
Our approach is built on ‘ordinary life principles’. That means supporting each person in a way that’s bespoke and holistic, with clear, measurable goals. Whether it’s learning to cook a meal, catching a bus into town, or preparing for a move into supported living, we’re with them every step of the way.
We create monthly activity plans packed with meaningful experiences – from cinema trips and swimming to farm parks and themed events. Our team regularly takes residents into the community, building social connections and real-world confidence.
Positive Behaviour Support
All of our staff receive training in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS). This structured, evidence-based model focuses on understanding the function of behaviours of distress and creating proactive, individualised strategies that reduce risk and improve wellbeing. PBS informs our least-restrictive approach, ensuring residents are supported with dignity, consistency, and respect.
